Robert Kennedy fu consigliere capo del comitato, suo fratello John, all’epoca senatore, fu un membro. Il padrino si rifiutò di rispondere più volte alle domande e invocò il quinto emendamento relativamente ai suoi rapporti con la criminalità e sul suo passato. Da quel momento in poi, Marcello divenne un nemico dichiarato dei Kennedy.
