Carmichael No Longer In New Orleans

from Club Seat Network · host Club Seat Network

After seventeen seasons with the New Orleans Saints, Pete Carmichael has been let go by the team. In 2006, Carmichael, along with head coach Sean Payton arrived in New Orleans looking to re-energrize a city and franchise that had suffered through Hurricane Katrina. Carmichael began his career with the Saints as a quarterbacks coach and later being promoted to the passing game coach position. In 2009, Carmichael became the team's offensive coordinator and would serve in that position until 2023. For over a decade, Carmichael, along with Sean Payton and quarterback Drew Brees enjoyed consistency by finishing in the top ten in the NFL in major offensive categories. The trio of Payton, Brees and Carmichael along with players such as Reggie Bush, Pierre Thomas, Jeremy Shockey, Marques Colston and Devery Henderson just to name a few were instrumental in helping the team win its first ever Super Bowl in franchise history by beating the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl 44 in 2010. In addition to Carmichael being let go, the Saints have also fired senior offensive assistant Bob Bicknell and wide receivers coach Kodi Burns.
