Carney Summit with Metis Nations on Major Projects Bill C-5 final

On Aug. 6, 2025, Prime Minister Mark Carney will gather with the Métis Nation of Alberta, Métis Nation of Saskatchewan, and Métis Nation of Ontario in Ottawa, discussing major projects.Carney promised meetings with First Nations, Inuit and Métis after leaders said they were not adequately consulted, and David Chartrand said, `Respect my government as you're asking me to respect yours.
