Carney’s byelection chess game

Prime Minister Carney has called three federal byelections for August 31, including one in Chicoutimi–Le Fjord that was triggered when he appointed Conservative MP Richard Martel to the Senate. With another MP now announcing his resignation, the growing number of vacancies — and the politics surrounding them — are attracting attention.
