Carrick Deserve Better, Says Baxter | Belfast News

Carrick Rangers fell to a 3-1 defeat at home against Cliftonville despite playing with heart and creating key chances, leaving manager Stephen Baxter frustrated that luck—and not tactics—decided the outcome. Carrick led early but were pegged back before halftime and then overwhelmed in the second half, with Cliftonville’s resilience and clinical finishing proving decisive. Baxter emphasized his team’s dominance in possession and moments of real threat, lamenting missed opportunities that could have flipped the script. The loss stings, especially as Cliftonville climb the table while Carrick must regroup fast to stay in contention.
