Carter Jensen's Historic Streak | Kansas City Royals News

Carter Jensen is on fire, smashing a 19-game hitting streak — the longest active in MLB and a new Royals rookie record. With three more hits Sunday, he helped KC avoid a sweep and inch closer to matching the longest rookie catcher streak since Buster Posey. He credits his hitting coaches and hard work, but says his focus is always on wins. Early in the season, he chased power and overthought things — now, since June 6, he’s hitting .350+, driving the ball gap to gap and trusting his swing. His clutch double against lefties Sunday proved it. In a rough year for the Royals, Jensen’s streak is a fan favorite, and he’s aiming for 20 games when they face the Rays.
