Carter Smith is a queer horror icon, even if all his films aren't highlighting explicitly queer relationships. A master of depicting complex male...friendships?, he continues that trend in his new film, THE PASSENGER. And perhaps that instinct got its start watching Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge.
