Cast not away therefore your confidence
from Things of the spirit Hosted by Robert
Fighting through darkness and despair and pleading for the light is what opened this dispensation. It is what keeps it going, and it is what will keep you going. With Paul, I say to all of you: Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. [Hebrews 10:35–36] This talk deals with the difficulties that we all face, sometimes simple issues, sometimes crushing ones. Our Savior has told us again and again, in many different ways to not be afraid. Even when there are reasons to be afraid, we are commanded to keep going. The music for this comes from a video Rigeletto... it's a touching song of a young girl who made the choice to do what was right, amid significant pressure to cave. This scene is doubly powerful as she is singing and proving her worth, her teacher is being brutally murdered by a mob because of perceived injustices. It's a reminder to always, always focus on what is right, and let that be your standard regardless of cost or difficulty.
