20-something. On the day of this recording. Yeah. So, be excited.
I know I like the book on a guy. A lot of stuff I want to talk about is coming out next month. You're going to be like two episodes for that when we do that. You know that?
I understand. You're going to be like a lot of stuff. You've got a lot of stuff for that. So, anyway.
We're going to be 7. And week 7 episode is on Captain Marvel. Captain Marvel. Captain Marvel.
The movie came out recently. We've been lost in Samuel Jackson. Let me do the Nerdfore. All right, so Captain Marvel is it.
What are we doing? We're going to the background? Yeah, I'm going to the background. I'm going to the background.
You know, just because you don't know who Captain Marvel is. Here you go. Captain Marvel is an extraterrestrial creep warrior who finds herself called in the middle of an intergalactic battle between her people and the scrolls. Living on Earth in 1995, she keeps having recurring memories of another life as US Air Force pilot to the Carol Danvers with help from Nick Fury.
Captain Marvel tries to uncover the secrets of her past, harnessing her special superpowers to end the war with the evil scrolls. Captain Marvel, ladies and gentlemen. So, applause, applause, applause, applause. So, came out March 8th.
I want to first dispel this thing that Captain Marvel was a first Avenger. No, people, I want you to understand this. This is a 1995, right? This movie is based in.
Oh yeah, I just think it's something about that. Like, no, like, they had a tester back already. I mean, that Captain America already crashed a boat. Exactly.
So, that was already happening. And what happened was, Marvel, she came and found, she must have found a tester back in this time and boarded up in space. That must have happened. The only thing is that how it started had it at some point after this.
That's true. So, but, so before this, sorry, we had it before this. And so it's possible that maybe they knew each other and that's how Marvel had acted to it. Like, maybe they recovered it, or maybe, maybe she recovered it.
I don't know how she could do that. She want to know about the operation. So, I'm guessing how it started, recovered it or she did and how it started at that time. And he was part of the organization.
So, I'm assuming that what happened was he recovered it and they had it at Pegasus or whatever it may have you not yet. But they had it in a facility. They were doing things with it or maybe brought it to the Air Force. We don't know because we don't exactly know what it has to happen.
I know there's been some information, but how was that? Did it have it first? And then it came into the hands of Marvel. Just to catch you guys up if you guys don't know, you haven't seen anything.
And Captain America, the first Avenger movie, of course, as you know, the end of the movie, he crashes the plane with the tester back in the plane. It falls out the plane. And how was Stark in the movie, Tony Stark's father comes and finds the tester back. So, but in Captain Marvel, the Cree Marvell has the tester back in space, right out of orbit of Earth.
So, in that time, we're theorizing that she either met with how was Stark or she took it from how it started and started experimenting with it. Because I believe he died in 92. So, we don't know. And it's like that's a short amount of time to have developed this kind of engine base, even for a Cree.
So, it's... It isn't really? I mean, these dudes have like... It was experimental, so it had to be...
We had to wait a minute. So, maybe the government became under control of some of the assets after how it started. Maybe he just gave it to them, maybe he knew her. We don't know.
That's not ever, might not ever got explained. But it was granted to Marvell and it was in space until the end of this movie where it became under shows possession, which then, in Avengers 1, we see, it's in the Pegasus base, which is where they went to in the majority of the movie where they got contained and where Sam and Jasmine went at the end. So, you know, Captain America was technically the first Avenger. Now, at the end of Captain Marvel, hopefully you watched it already, Samio Jackson's character Nick Fury comes up with the name for Avengers from Captain Marvel's plane of Avenger.
He comes up with the name. But technically the first Avenger was Captain America. So, there you go. There's no chimino confusion anymore.
Captain Marvel. And plus when did he crash? Wasn't it in the eighties? No, wait a minute, like the thirdies.
I was like, the thirdies. When did he get thrown out though? It was like... in 2018 yeah right so no one knew what happened and this version and MCU at this point nobody knew where he was so but Nick Vury wasn't even around back then to be even knowing about Captain America being nothing to happen about none of that like it might be there might be files on it but he wouldn't have been a part of that at all so they will be in a way for him to ever have this had they before me and got the model because there's been nothing to base it around though so yeah but when they plus they can't mess with continuity because they called the movie the first adventure and you can't mess that up so it is what have to take place at the defense of that movie because he was technically the first super powered person quote unquote human being to become that's thing I'm all about human beings becoming heroes so in terms of the movies that's what we've been seeing though where it's still kind of human over his first movie then take place it was a whole thing but and he was deparcing like he might have to become a superhero again so it's kind of same thing so yeah human though I know but he kind of was he was cast out to earth and he didn't have a timer he was kind of like humanized for the movie and he even got a girlfriend so you know so Captain Marv how you feel about it I loved it yeah I want to go see it with my beautiful wife and we thought I asked her her opinion because she's you know I mean if she's seen a bunch of them but I don't we have I haven't made her sit down and watch all that I'm at least even if she has you know and if you want to remember but her opinion was like you know it was a good she gives it a I'll say at the end what she gives it when we give our ratings but she says that she enjoyed herself she said it was a good movie it was in power and we said I would give it like an eight or nine or like the women in the prime and scale and I think that like and even with that it was it was done very nicely it wasn't like it wasn't overdone sometimes so I think it was cool I'm is relatable to a lot more in this woman in certain instances so yeah she said as someone's going into why some movie like same thing kind of a compliment like you know if you don't know what if you don't really care about what's happening I started this like you're gonna enjoy yourself and on the movie does that for Comic Clans 2 which I hope it did despite all the other stuff that happened around the movies released which you might talk about later but yeah overall I felt like it was a pretty solid film it it is in my I don't know what to put it I mean I guess one day we can always do like a ranking after endgame or whatever then go through all the movies and rank them like make our own list I did my own ranking in my mind up to endgame so she's definitely up there like in the top four or five yeah for me because she she was always heroic and that's the kind of thing that you get out and that's and I said to aid them before like right after I went up before I went forgot after I went I said that it was very much like Captain America and what you had somebody who were was always being told they couldn't do something and he weren't supposed to be doing something and had the heart to keep trying and she wasn't recognized for it but she was validated in it by having a friend and by having Marbell you know being a shot to try and you know give them shot a flying at a time which you were allowed to fly so she got validated in the same way and was not going to get validated by the army guy by saying like I want you to take this part in this experiment and that catalyst was what gave them their abilities so it's interesting to me because the explosion is what gave her her superpowers but then they made her into a creep biologically by blood transfusion right so I'm thinking that maybe kind of like think about this way Captain America also had to take he had to be injected and then hit a radiation so it's kind of the same kind of mixed with things we think about it it's like injection of fluids and radiation what if without that radiation her body would not be able to sustain this entity as long or as good as it would be able to because now she's able to take punches out of face like it's nothing I've seen in the movie and be super strong and that's just the crease out of her thought it's probably being enhanced by or solidified by all this extra energy that's able to stabilize yourself yeah so yeah it's a pretty solid film there's a lot of parallel between not two movies and for me a reason why I'm saying that because I feel like she's gonna be a new leader or the fact that a leader of or rather than moral compass maybe even though she hasn't shown a lot of like morality and she just kind of wants to do the right thing when she realized that she was wrong she wanted to do the right thing yeah but um Captain America I guess can still fall in a category where if he felt like if he found out something he was doing was totally all-based he would 180 right away he would be he would be able to admit that he was wrong about something just that he doesn't think he's wrong about nothing happened in Civil War yeah so yeah it's a good movie it's a good movie and I do want to see her I want to see more I want to get your opinion on it if I talk about like our comments and stuff that happen I think I thought the movie was great I mean it's definitely up there top five maybe top ten definitely top ten for me for the best Marvel films I thought the story line was great I thought I really love the most but I love the most was that and when the movie started it was a little confusing but that was the point because she was confused too so as she started to understand what's going on we started to understand what's going on I thought that was a very very great film tactic to approaching the film you know the director tactic I did like that I did like how they gave us her past but because she was being manipulated by machine we should buy her scene and then they started messing with this we're like wait we want what I was like wait okay there's not a flashback they're digging her mind yeah and that's how it seems images not like she's dreaming this craft all the time because she was the whole point is she's not able to remember they saw she logically blocked her memory yeah so no amount of dreaming would bring up back up in a entirety but what they did put her into his memories which you know she can see here is feeling touch and have to focus on the crash focus on people and right after seeing Marbell and the supreme command and take the form of unknown what is that is gave her all she needed to say okay super great in that I thought it was also really great the underlying the underlying theme of I love that they kept trying to make her control her emotions and the fact that her control her emotions will make her stronger and it kind of tied into like how people feel like women are emotional I thought that was really tight how they like touched on that it was like let women just be who they want to be and stop trying to control them let them out and be whatever they want to be and it's like they literally they put a limiter on her like they they was like oh you're you're we got you now and they only they really only kept her because of their power so it's again it's like you technically you objectified her yeah you said oh where she's the engine now like even they made the point where clear at the end with Ronan yeah when he's like oh we're coming back he's like oh to get the engine take not get the girl and he's like cuz he understands that she has a power now at least it's not a weapon to get the weapon he's a ought to get the girl and he's like so again objects are obtained yeah so her saying I had to put myself to you like I can whoop all your asses I don't even know why I think I'm on the fist fight I can blast you to heaven in back yeah I'm not by the way sometime I have a problem definitely gonna use it like I don't have time for this and you know some people might not like that she was such a quick study but I think that I can lend that to our personality yeah I mean she flew planes bro like I don't know about a lot of people have you ever thought about before you know how much like thought and like how much like training goes into having to do that remember all that stuff that's a lot that goes into that so I feel like for Captain Marvel it was really a thing where it's like you saw what made her great outside of her having the powers and that was awesome to me because you know for me like as a person like that that drives home that drives home Marvel's whole idea is that anybody could be a superhero they have it in them right the powers don't make you a superhero right it's who you are right and there's a little I don't know if it's a nod but when they play the multiple versions of her getting knocked on and getting up again she gets up in a superhero way if you see she stands up and she puts her back foot last and she slightly turns her body especially the last two times when she's in the air force and when she's standing up to very last time at the craft site it's very it's very superheroish and and that's the most it got though it wasn't like she did not do a superhero landing we really even seen her land didn't show close up her landing there was no like knee and she definitely disappeared landing role she landed don't say so to him because it didn't show close up she kind of landed normal like I was looking for a superhero land and it was like she did they didn't make it she didn't make it like a it didn't make a point of it like if it happened it didn't make a point of it didn't show her like they didn't show a knee hitting the ground like a close up her fists in the ground or some shit like that like and I hate that because like not we already talked about how no matter who you are you could probably really hurt yourself doing that I do wish I could have shown that she had some training though like she was trained a little bit like she did technically you know what she did train because she was a creep so she was battling that whole time so she already had in her she seemed to learn how to get her less credit because it wasn't like she was an expert in it like oh but until she got outside she was kind of winging it you know trying to use the energy blast at like a propulsion system and as like a whip and as like a room clearer you she just trying out different shit because she doesn't know how to stuff or she just trying to get it to come out of you know she's like it's kind of like chakra control she wanted to like a ninja like she's only been using it from her hands the whole time she's trying to learn using it with her body just that and thinking about it that way you know if if these kind of thoughts make any sense if you kind of focus on all your poisoning of back and release energy you know and then kind of keep it constantly then you can fly and that kind of like I guess she's smart enough as Air Force pilot to kind of understand how that would work because it's kind of like ejecting your novice direction and plus she did fluency but not a space like even her friend can do it she's not a regular person but and really a compass pilot but they're they're both very good that was tight I included how they included Marvell how they included you know Kathamarwe also her friends daughter who's gonna become Kathamarwe some point I'm to that totally tight as well yeah I don't know how to do that but she's based on this story I'm not even in her late 20s right now in terms of like present day so she's definitely around maybe she's already gotten her power is coming I feel like at this point it is definitely possible to have superheroes who have developed in the Marvell universe that just hasn't gotten a movie yet I can just show up in the movie kind of like what happened like they showed you know it's all the way she's trying to introduce each character for you seen it but it definitely possible to have a hero be somewhere and we not just know about them and they be very new or they say oh hey I'm a be here and I'm gonna go help these guys out and just show up and maybe it might not suck or maybe it might have practice like I heard you're trying to introduce like captain and England or something like that or captain London something like that and Captain UK something to that effect um so Captain Britain something to move forward how important you think her role would be in in game oh well I got two questions for you how important her would be and to is she the most powerful or danger it's the most powerful marble did their ranking and they she's not a genius because I just think that that's the thing when we talk about people being geniuses I guess it's hard to argue with people like Tony Stark around like oh they're knowing to be genius the best thing in a comic book he's on par he's a part of the Illuminati comic book so he's up there but in terms of like raw power without any kind of like just as a superpower that's the thing with some super powers Tony started to have super powers yeah so in terms of like raw output like she's on power with Thor because she uses cosmic energy and that's the special thing about it she's like kicking out fire or plasma or some sort of could be a fun but it's really cosmic energy which is something that is really hard to counter really hard to deal with and the exact same energy that counters on god levels that's like Thor and Thanos which is why like a blast from her we have the same effect like for example I could see Thor's hammer having the same effect on her beam that it did on Thanos is being at the end of you know if anyone I can see that happening but I could also see her being able to suit her being strong enough to break it to at this you know I'm saying because there's not a cap on her yet she has weaknesses but we don't like she's probably badass because you don't even know her binary form how far I can go I think that's like I think that's like really tight it is you don't know like I feel like it's her like her 95 year her 95 and her now it's quite like you know like she's probably like she's not like like a smart I mean even in like Marvel has been doing a lot of other forms of her in recent years so if you are fan of anything that they make for kids she's not an unfamiliar person there's a YouTube channel called Marva rise and it's Marva was Marvel channel but they have a show they put up TV shows up there and at the show for Marva rising and she basically starts the that team of like Avengers with the new Miss Marvel which is a Somali girl and this alien girl and and Patriot which is Captain Captain America's little the black kind of like not the Falcon not Falcon another guy that trains but I can leave them so I team out so and she's been around other media as well so she's not foreign to like people who watch animated things from Marvel but the movie people is brand new and I think that it's time to you know bring her in because she is a very powerful and prominent person and and all the other Marvel all the Marvel's other properties on especially animated she's definitely know about much of crap so I see her I see her in Captain America but it's yeah if not her and Captain's gonna be her and Tony in the comics her and Tony I don't want to have problems so yeah but I can see her and cap agreeing but at the same time she is not because of how she is particularly in this version of her she's not about to let a bunch of do just tell her what's about to happen either especially when she's been kicking ass the moment she figured out how to use her power she didn't take it out like she did not take it out and some people might say oh but what if you got like you know knocked on one more time or whatever it's like not like we don't need to see that like she's gonna what's the last like sometimes women are stopping us right you know that's your tie into how what's been going on with Brie Larson and the reviews around the movie yeah I was like when I was saying people talk about the movie and talk about you know Brie Larson how being a feminist like what does that I do it her in the movie a number of sites for writing very negative reviews or the angle of which they were attacking the issue around and move was very negative I heard that like right to me just have to change the way that people were able to review movies especially before they come out and so now there's a hold on them so you can't just jump in and make comments and influence what's going on early with their outside thoughts about what's happening with what a movie even comes out yeah so that actually had to make them accompany chains how people interact with it and that's that's a lot because I just kept like and I follow a lot of pages I just kept seeing these negative articles and people are commenting like who the hell is writing this shit like who's saying these things like that it got to 80% of rhymes and made it people saying oh instead of saying it's at 80% or just not talking about it because the movie hasn't come out yet they would say oh it's the lowest ranked MCU from yeah I'm like what I'm like that I'm like I'm like I'm like oh at the watching I was like yeah that's like larger media as a whole like that was just like hard like a nipple choice like what was that like and so that's definitely better than like it's definitely better than going to the galaxy I don't give a nobody's yeah it's better than guardians um and two is trash like I don't give a nobody's it's like I don't know I don't know I don't know I don't know I'm like it comes on I just don't want to watch it but I don't want to watch it literally not keep my attention I was watching the movie through really yes like it's not keep my attention and then the wasp and then and the wasp I enjoyed that that was cool but it was very very very like be to be like you know a lot of interesting things happen it that kind of this and these two movies serve to introduce new elements just like how doctor training these last couple movies and MCU outside of the team of having had introduced new things even rack around introduce new things like oh I got gone there's no place and I let directly into infanue war but other movies to introduce people introduce other things well including back and there's new areas um new plane that we're assisting you know like places the story can go outside of a right now even better than Thor one and two throw one and two come on and I love how consistent they kept it like even the the way that they traveled through deep space with how they didn't guardians you know they didn't make a point of it because you know they didn't try and jump like a hundred freaking photos but yeah that's how they did it and you know they're playing inside of a bubble now which but they're playing well and I thought I thought that was very nicely done and when it comes to the first female superhero and I mean like people with powers who got powers and and she never once like I didn't even she didn't even see her like snarl and use them like she didn't even like a crazy angry face and like blast somebody like it didn't happen um in the movie because she was more shocked and confused than anything else even when she kind of was like even at the end she's like I'm not he's like she's looking at him like oh you're trying to get me to fish fight you like I see she's like I stuck the butt like she went she kind of she kind of wised up and was like I'm above all of this like I don't have to do none of this stuff she kind of realized I'm not a kree you know I'm not even human anymore now I'm just myself and and I'm so much for a lot of people not just women like it wasn't not ego in that in that moment when she realized that it wasn't like they were straight aligns her like they and you know when you input to put into it together no one happened to her and knowing why they probably kept her around like and then he did a dress and she was like you know you see like what happened there like a lot of manipulation going on there and she just didn't she just didn't know it's just on a bigger issue of that just goes to show you on the bigger issue of how outside influences can you as a human being as a person and that everyone else is opinions of you and thoughts of how you should be can stop you from being stop you from realizing your full potential yeah you know so that's exactly what it's about they literally put a limiter on her like and to the point when she can barely shoot and you blast like imagine if you can do it up in the beginning of the movie when she got her hand stuck and I think what would have been gone first shot like like you know and they had but it also kind of waste time having her go to like a second movie on how to fly like we have any income and she's gonna be in it we know this now and she's not a slouch it's not like Ant-Man where he's like oh you know I'm not I'm not the actual scientist guy I'm just a thief guy and I'm a little smart like not like like she's really capable she the jeans and her own around pretty sure she could have been a scientist if she wanted to be but she was a tough girl and she wanted to she went to fly for complaint and she went after that shit so I'm pretty sure she could do anything she wanted to do what she chose to do in a time when women can fly planes so I guess like I feel like Captain Marvel was a pretty big movie maybe a message to the movie going into the week of the week I already have one I don't really have one for Captain Marvel bounce which I didn't really have one um Samuel and Jackson was pretty useful I always love Samuel Jackson I'm the best able him ever so there was no real week of the week person for me in this movie everyone that was in the movie played a part that was important yeah the only thing that I wasn't sure of was they'd be catch all of the scrolls I think that one died in a car with it was for the scrolls are good so it don't matter not all of them remember it gets worse no I don't remember we don't um so member Ronan also agree yes so the scrolls I seen we evil most of the time and scrolls do invade earth in a comic book so they do they're good people bad people and every race that's kind of what the movies kind of say because the scrolls is presumably evil it turned out that they're just kind of refugees but there's probably also other scrolls who have been turned to the bad side because of circumstances and do not care about trying to get back they just went to destroy or do something else yeah so I forgot about that mmm that's true and that's why it's not hard to pick a week because everyone has a part to play and what's going on yeah I guess that we could be from here be like like a homeboy like a young walk or whatever like me do this because he just manipulated everything and just didn't tell anyone anything everyone lied just cut them out the whole time he all the time after her face every day yeah I thought his character was great though yeah I think it's part no no he did his thing like I don't like him and that's why he killed his role like I was like yo man you really even at the end he and he's smarter shit because instead he instantly tried to manipulate her when he came down with the like I'm out to blast the shit out of you and she was like oh this is the time you can prove it to me now and like every building tries to do bro yeah she was like no yeah I thought it was I thought it was a really good movie I didn't really have no real real quarrels with it just like I guess like like I said there's not a there's not enough time for me to really do so much development with her because right this movie she's going straight into in-game so it's not like I have like a Captain Marvel 2 they might but you know it's not a lot of time to do development about her power so she had a lot of stuff right now I'm saying to Captain America Captain America there was really no time to develop he just kind of we just knew he learned stuff over time you know so even though yes I went by a month I went by when he came to Captain America and so when he started like fighting and in action fighting yeah yeah I'm pretty sure during that time he was training so we just got to understand it that's what he was doing but they didn't have time to really go in on it and like and what I like about the MCU universe is that what they do is that they show the development of characters from previous movies like Captain America and Captain America First Avenger and Captain America and Winter Soldier is two different Captain America is broke like that Captain America was throwing the hands bro that first scene he came down when he dropped out the plane onto the ship started wrecking the whole crew like that's a whole different Captain America bro like it's a whole young Captain America first one you know so like he definitely was training he's definitely gotten better he's definitely learning new things so that's we're probably gonna see that once again with Captain Marvel in game so and in game comes out next month and I'm honestly like three hours I can't fucking wait I don't know about you like you know no bathroom breaks I'm like bringing like a piss couple me you know yeah I mean you know like superheroes like if anybody tries to like distract me from this movie I'm gonna be very upset I'm just me I'm just me honest with you so anyway but uh so I have a week of the week of this week but the theme of this week is getting rid of ego I feel like watching how people assessed this move before even came out or even even saw it just based off of their idea of Brie Lawson because she's a feminist and she's like pro women it kind of ties into the time is like yo there are a lot of men out here today and some women that have an issue with strong women and women saying like no we want equal things we want to be treated fairly and I find it very I find it's an ego thing it's really all it is it's not like a I don't see them really I don't see Brie Lawson this will be coming off as like I'm better than you you know it was very more so like I'm not as we can think I am you know and it was very humble and it was very like I don't I don't think it was like in a mean way so I feel like they're really ego man that was one thing I feel like Brie catamark with it in the movie I feel like that's something that Tony Stark suffers from his ego his ego he's not having it and that's great yeah his ego fucks him up every time which is what ends up fucking everything all the time same thing with Star Wars he will fucks him up to you know I'm saying it's like the every time they would catch America he will fucks him up too so it's like you watch like the fact that all their egos in the fucking situations more and more and catamarkers that just did not happen she's just like you know what throughout the window let me decide on the situation she has so many opportunities to to be negative about what's happening and she treated to say now I'm just gonna just take this now she does have a really hard you know seeming exterior outside of when she's with her close friends and family and but that's fine a lot of us are like that so you know the fact we get to see that even though wasn't as driven home but it was there to give us the characters and we got to see moments with them a lot of moments with them which I like I thought that was nice but we didn't have time to like sit down and have dinner like going like a trip whatever we had time for that we just kind of move on and this just that was coming now anything that happening right now and I like how the movie did kind of pace out of itself and didn't waste so much time with too many things yeah I agree with people I think went too fast but I don't agree with that so all in all it's a great movie I enjoyed it so that's the episode right yeah this feels like it yeah I know to say you know what's the thing with that giving up ego getting rid of you yeah just take that take that for what you will and whatever what that means that doesn't mean I doesn't mean don't be confident it just means I like know that like
