It's just that this stuff happening in between that We don't want to not talk about always stuff to you know like this is his hot thing we're gonna do I feel like you know season two you're gonna see this good I'm obviously this we told you before this stuff comes into we have ideas for specific things for season two We want to do based on format So in the meantime, we're not gonna have you wait X amount of time to hear us talk about these things and you know I like to give mine two cents, but they can be only but so much more I'm online and so much argument you can get into that work and you got to come out and that's where you have to show Yeah, and we always have some opposing you just that's why every time we talk before every time before the show We start talking about the show and then we get some pointers like oh, we have a point of contention I'll be back with that on here. You can find it in the 80s Okay, anyways strange things is a Netflix show Um Program creators Ross Duffer and Matt Duffer the duffer brothers writers Ross Duffer Jesse Nickerson Lopez Justin do Paul Dicher No, they make the show I ain't gonna say nothing about them. They'd definitely win the face with these performances The first episode premiered on July 15 2016 Wow, that's I was after like it was yesterday the show came out Um this so the synopsis is like so this thrilling Netflix original drama stars golden glow winning actress for no no Rider didn't really know about her before that as Joyce Blyers who lives in a small in the end of town in 1983 Inspired by a time when tales of science fiction captivated audience. Oh, yo, we could talk about will we'll look authorities at the search for answers They unravel the series of extraordinary mysteries involving secret government experiments unnerving supernatural forces and a very unusual little girl who we have come to know as Oh or 11 or the 11th experiment out of the kids who were experimented on at that time by her Was that her actual father her actual father, right? Yeah, it was a scientist guy Because the mom had similar abilities or something like that and that's why she went no no no no no they took it They took they took her child and then Oh my gosh, I remember she found a mom and a tonter like the mom the mom went crazy because they took her away Something to that effect. I ain't gonna get super into it. I remember that they're also doing a comic on her mom Like a little prequel comic.
So that's look out for that. That's a random trivia. Um So the way I talk about the show is well first off like let's just give like our We're gonna do like over scoping impressions. Let's just like go like we know people are gonna probably say like oh, it's using Great.
So like how did you feel about season three? It was nice. I liked it. It was good.
It was nice. I didn't any parts that you thought were like didn't make any sense or no I mean I was watching it and I was generally like there's nothing wrong. Like I didn't feel like I mean Yeah, of course is like the how the kids get into a Russian base and not you know all that bullshit, but I mean it's a show So I'm not there's nothing that really bothered me really per se About about It's a fantasy show. So I'm like, right?
You know, I think a big part of it is that um they don't mind for the 80s So like yeah, I will say some characters especially in the season suffer from plot armor because if you think about it in real life People have a disappearing from Hawkins, right? People have investigating but blah blah, you know, it's not really anything they can do about it So if those kids got killed by the Russians, no one probably know for a little bit of time It was two kids. They probably I don't think Russians care that much about keeping prisoners Know who Which is also old movie trouble like the Russian like everyone that they run into is somehow working for the government in some way a ship a capacity when in reality I was talking about this to somebody. I was like, I wonder like, you know how we like to pick Russians in shows and movies here I wonder how they depict the Americans.
No, you know, I think they had there was someone I was on a late night show and he's like no like no Still Russians bad guys over there He basically said like you know, it's not like we're not offended because we really we do weird shit Like he basically said like um over there is just like it's regular like okay. Yeah over here It's like oh no, like everyone's bad ass speaking of that. I think there was a there was a movie made in Russia super Movie in Russia. I forgot what it's called, but it should look amazing.
It was I will say it was a guy with the head of a bear It was a big deal with the head of a bear this little this girl with um she can teleport or some shit like if I was a weird But it was like some German Avengers. It would look I would watch it Anyway, but we talked about German and la vica Germany plays a big no, sorry Russia plays a big part in this season. Yeah, um We we thought that the Russian were involved last time and it was a joke That's the thing so like I think in season one there was a joke made about it being Russians, you know, and It's 1983 so it's not tonight. He's not too far off like they're gonna have the technology in less than 10 years You know, they're gonna have the internet less than 10 years So at that time the worldwide rev was like in this infancy stages So the government was connected enough where they can you know get that?
I mean even that scene when like hopper had to call in to try and get to the guy from season two to come back out and then um Joe's got a phone and I don't know what's up with Joyce's season. I'm the answer to I thought C. Anthony was dope. Um and even just like you said as I'm watching it like plow on my included You don't want to see kids getting murder on screen anyway, so we're not doing that So everything else that happened was was five of me.
They even the the character the character 2019 we can't even kill the other screen either That's over with Peter will come for us the world will come for us, but you know, um It was just weird. It was weird when I was watching it because I kept I kept looking I didn't know that they were putting in so many references until Um terminator showed up and I'm like, okay, this is a very clear reference I was like this dude is very clearly a reference super rush and so I said I had to go back And start looking at other things so like the cloak that real wears is from that 70 show Like it's the cloak that on the nerdy cat and that show where and I'm like, okay. Um, some of the sh- the sh- clothes that uh hopper wore They all made fun of his clothes. He said I don't know if I'm gonna be able to pull this off He's over here.

I'm sure with the match of pants bro That's my change of when I date She was listen I see I appreciated that dynamic I would say this though hopper kind of got him under his. I'm gonna say why he got him under Be doing the character later because hopper is one reason why I'm with it because there's an issue with masculinity at that time That I feel like kind of made me for weird looking at the show now Even with the like the finale was still nice and all that but there was parts of it But I was like it's 2019 though and you're paying homage, but it's like it would be like glorifying slavery Somewhat, let's what agree. I'm not gonna compare what I'm talking about later this lady But it's like it would be like calling back to something that not necessarily good to keep But you're trying to pay homage to it and it's kind of like what people they're kind of saying rationale behind People having a better flag up but like or paying them out like no, but you're still like it's not it's a damaging and it's a damaging archetype to world with so Season 2 was good At as a show as a whole show You did say before the show started to thought that season 2 was the strongest right?
Yeah, season 2 was the strongest to me. Okay, so season 3 had eight episodes Season 2 had Nine episodes and then season 1 had eight episodes So season 9 was the one I kind of in my mind was the most all over the place season 9 season Oh, wow, I'm I'm using a face app. I use that face app 50 was so dumb 50 cent was like oh power season 40 comes in and I was like stop So but season 2 to me felt like the most all over the place um season 1 I felt like that too, but not because it was so fresh everything was introduced at the same time So then everything came to get at the end I love how they do that with the show They do know how to make everyone have their own story and they do know how to have them insect at the right times like When they when they all came at the guy at the mall was like, okay, this is this is happening Like every other 80s movie like everyone everything converters at the mall and just that happened and and um So I think that this season they were they're trying to tell a different kind of story So when I talk about the references Um, well the reason why I thought season you saw teams was a little bit of a place reason why I thought it was great is because it gave One gave back for my L to know about why she had the power she had and how she did things she do Two it gave a little bit more dynamic to Hopper and him trying to be a father to L So I gave an emotional aspect that wasn't there before three and also showed Um the thing with uh, Will's mom and the fact that her losing Doug who was shot to Doug real real g you know saying when I'm like a g that was that I remember that when he did I was like Damn, but I should hit me hard. I was like bro.
He was a good dude, bro I was a man of news going down. I was like Especially when he gave me that advice in the car. I was like, oh, you definitely done bro. Oh, you absolutely done I was like you gave him the worst advice possible.
Yeah, but yeah, so I just feel like um With him in that sense, it's like season two is just really well done like as far as I mean, yeah I'm not gonna hold you when it's a lot. It's a lot emotional things But I'm not gonna hold you when L went to the city and the whole I was like, oh, this is what I did But that's my thing like I love that part I thought because what it did was it the reason I think I the reason how she found her mom partly was because she was looking Into the program and realized and she remembered that the girl and found her and then she has powers too So it's like, okay They can always just touch on what's going on with these other kids like we don't they're not all dead Um, at least some of she's not so this other thing Let me tell you why I think I was let me tell you why I said but they did that So when you have a character that's OP you have to Just like to do something like a flash effect. Yeah, that was something. She was OP for the situation I guess let me tell you why it was me because L was like she was a bit for the year wasn't she?

Um, I felt like she could have been a little bit More on top of her social cues and you still would have gotten the fact that she still was kind of not completely Accolated like the thing with relationships now they kind of they won't fool thought about this They was like listening like everyone's gonna have a relationship everyone except will Will is trying to maintain will has all so I tell people all the time you know, we don't care I was watching will and I was thinking about that black mer episode We said it in the new season Ah Vipers broke will like you could walk guys. I said it on a time I said I'll play this game You know what you might you might have to do a black mer episode I'm gonna have to sit down and do like a little series is going through the seasons pro because the whole time watching that I'm thinking about striking vipers bro, but it's funny because after you watch it that name Don't mean the same thing Know what? We just talked about her. I do enjoy her growth. I do enjoy her coming to her own Um, I just hope the next thing I'm still have her so like uneducated I feel like at some point I need to like, you know, I feel like the end of season two should have held everyone together a little bit better because Like Dustin left but he was alone on the left everyone else was there. So the fact that like Max is the one that's like, oh, let me show you how to be a girl and feel independent This season was like women empowerment season all over the place like Joyce was like the inviting like she kept jumping in And was kind of women her way through a situation and not to sound like I'm mad when I said that But like literally like if you are a guy watching you'll be like we're gonna do this And she was like no you listen to me, da da da da da da da da da da da and then see someone with a change And it's like so that good and bad It's like a lot of in real life, you know, sometimes we can get shit from some some shit free we can never get free You know how to happen so it was entertaining to watch but I think it happened a lot of the time and it was no Norns about it and I think it was so I think a good good at and I think it was done now with because she was Trying to exert herself over situation because she again.

Okay, so three years so it started so this is like this is the third year of okay So yeah, that's even more reason like else else should be able if you if she She's capable enough to kind of communicate her feelings to Mike At the end of season two even though Mike was very pushy This just makes me feel like Hopper's a worst dad in the fucking we don't talk about Hopper's and that's he hopper's gonna be pie So it's an end because that's that's a bigger topic. I know it happened right after they left Exploded and then it got out and oh yeah I'm gonna get mad because only because the left is because Nancy came to get him and he was taking pictures and she interrupted his work again If they had waited 30 seconds, they would have seen that she had popping explode and we'd been like Oh, what the fuck is going on that shit was great the graphics when it okay? Let's talk about this roadside bar and stop at the car this oh yeah The first episode when I said exploded I'm the part of the print on a max paint slow-time scene is where you think it's gonna send it. They over here got blown so then when it thinks like it checks right like nice when they started moving like that was a who when who turns one to the to powder the Dad the yeah When when they first then he first was trying to get the rat thing and it went into the end it got the person that person and It turned inside.

It doesn't matter Yeah, I just don't matter he had that kind of grapple with that all about you You seem kind of pointless to me, but whatever his character just didn't mean I mean I guess I guess for Dustin's sake But outside of that I didn't really see the use in his character the introduce that new girl That's what she was more useful to Steve She is actually a Maya hawk she is Ethan Hawks and Um, with Herman's daughter Wow, I mean look at her face You see it you see um with them in and then last month talking I look oh yeah, well she was very great. I liked her Yeah, no, she was he was on point Some of the other man of character like Karen the lady that I think she was when it got popped The one that oh yeah, yeah, the one that she didn't want to go popped Lauren the one does the like the the model I went out to Steve. I mean I went out to um Billy They went out to Billy and he don't stop the head and then you know that yeah, that's it but She wasn't one that was on what's the name that was the other girl's parents are one from the pool Karen her Karen the mom.

So she can like fucking waffles like cool out it by your shit I was like, you know, we will watch TV until you find something that we both like and would just watch that every day And then he got into our routine and his whole thing was like I used to that I want to give it up and it's like so he kind of they kind of took the whole group teenager growing up thing And kind of made it about like season their season two time going into season three and how things are going to be different now going forward because I would see people grow up and especially saying kids are going to grow up doing one of two things um bro Hopper was trying to take something. They did the same thing with these two in season they were dancing down the last season just that they didn't get that That's because yeah, Joyce didn't get to get seen she ain't get dug and she ain't got hot That's why she said I'm out. I think that I think the underlying theme in the I will say the season one theme was Especially the homage was more like a um Boogie man situation Demogorgon one character very scary snappy people up taking them away You know blah blah Season two was very like think of like the birds and like the move with the insane evil cars and gnomes like other things like the demigods And and then um the hawking the the underground part aspect of it We're like everything's just changing over very 70 and 80s movie reference to like kind of big monster Season three was more like body snatchers and bays than the body snatchers Whereas like now like instead of like things happening outside people are becoming out vessels for the evil and then evil manifests itself literally and physically in the show Which from the people that it like basically literally like hey, you're my minion now You're a part of me and it was nasty every time I think with the light almost do it But graphics wrong point so I think overall though the show's theme and our theme for this episode is going to be a family because family is not always Something that is blood related by the end of season three. We see that L is leaving with Will Joyce and Jonathan Um, so now as opposed to her staying with the emotionally stagnant hopper She's gonna be in the actual family with some who gives a shit about her because Joyce cares about anyone who's within 30 feet of her Um, so which probably should have happened the very first time around but Joyce had thought so she wasn't about to have like this random daughter or whatever Who she doesn't even really know um and she would never have allowed her to him her and like to be together in her house I know that would have happened so I think the theme was family because you know Billy and max Even though they had the differences like it's okay to bite each other at the end max was still like, you know, Billy was like, I'm sorry. They still had their interactions where you feel still felt like Um, then you learned that like, you know, he met her really in life So like they don't really have a long standing connection and so believe went away. So that was their family then you have um Hopper and eldest but up, you know, so that family now was separated and now she joins will and Jonathan family and will Jonathan Doings and now they're more together not in ever before and will was the one I was going season one and season two emotionally just like kind of out of it Not telling what's going on and uh, Dustin's been the family's believe I've been seeing two his mom's and three was like him and his girlfriend and his friends was his family That's like I heard that they weren't you know when it got back.
Yeah, um, so you can go through each character and kind of touch on it Especially when it comes to the mayor the newspaper people the likewise people like they were all part of the family of other people in show His sister got a big part of this season so like yeah that so family became really big But when she doesn't even believe that he was a part of anything in his head season when it's like I don't believe that You believe all the serious stuff in the monster's here, but yeah, I don't believe others part of the other Now I don't think is I don't even believe that I need to come back next season so like yeah, like yeah, like yeah for sure Um, so yeah, I think that's the theme like, you know, it's not always about um Uh the people who you grew up with because sometimes the situations caused to it come together That's what it was about Situation calls to it come together a lot of the time So I think that um we just keep an eye on the goal of the family is to look out for one another and ultimately to care for one another Um, and I think even though hopper was kind of noticing it into last thing That's what they wanted to take from it like hey like he really tried But like you can actually You can go out and talk to the people you love and you can't know how you feel And you don't have to write it out you don't have to have some pep talk you But you know parenting goes hard. Um, you don't know the right thing to say all the time and he had no practice He just boom his a 13 year old like, you know, he had no time to prep So I understand all that stuff. So I saw that. I know it made me but weird But I also understand why I had to do so so I think that's I think that's a really solid theme.
