CAT Episode 215 - The Smithereens

Jim Babjak and Dennis Diken of The Smithereens, who were formed in 1980, join us on this episode.  Inducted in the New Jersey Hall of Fame in 2019, the band still tours and records today, since the passing of their lead singer/guitarist Pat DiNizio.  Hanging out backstage with them before they hit the stage, multi-award winning program director Ray White talked with them about their favorite Smithereens albums with Pat and the decision to use guest singers since his passing.  These singers include Marshall Crenshaw, Robin Wilson (Gin Blossoms), John Cowsill (The Cowsills) and most recently Wesley Stace (John Wesley Harding).  Jim and Dennis also share some BIG NEWS about the band in the upcoming year that you don't want to miss!  Check out episodes 4, 30 & 145 for much more from The Smithereens. In our showcase segment we feature John Cowsill, who with his wife Vicki Peterson (The Bangles) have a new album out titled Long After The Fire.  Join Classic Artists Today for another super show!!
