We see God instituting the Passover and setting the start of the Israelite religious calendar. The Israelites wait in hope of their deliverance by God from Egyptian slavery. God will pass over the Israelites and kill all the firstborn of Egypt in this 10th and final plague. The Egyptians then set the Israelites free and urge them to leave in haste.
