Ibsens salong er tilbake! I den nye sesongen starter vi forfra, med Ibsens debutdrama «Catilina» fra 1850. Litteraturprofessor Frode Helland er dagens gjest. Er «Catilina» verdt å lese i dag? Og ser vi tegn på hva som vil komme? Roma, år 63 før vår tidsregning. Republikken vakler. Mistilliten brer seg. Og midt i det politiske kaoset står én mann: Catilina. For noen var han en farlig konspiratør. For andre en desperat opprører mot et korrupt system. Nesten 2000 år senere sitter en ung Henrik Ibsen i den lille kystbyen Grimstad — fattig, ambisiøs og rastløs. Han finner noe av seg selv i den romerske opprøreren.
