Each year Auckland Libraries works with scholars from the Auckland History Initiative (AHI), a research collaboration at the University of Auckland. In this series we present research projects from the 2023 Summer Scholars exploring aspects of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland's history. https://ahi.auckland.ac.nz/ The 1920s, 1930s and 1940s saw drastic changes in women's fashion. In this track Caitlin Kilpatrick explores fashion in Auckland and how City department stores shaped fashion trends and the influence of fashion magazines of this time.
