Caullin Lacy: NFL Draft Prospect's Journey

Caullin Lacy, a sixth-year senior draft prospect from Louisville, has been making waves with his impressive performance as a wide receiver. Born in Mobile, Alabama, Lacy started as a three-sport star in high school and later attended South Alabama, where he steadily improved his game over four seasons. Despite modest recruiting hype, he earned all-conference honors in his senior year with 91 catches for 1,316 yards and 7 touchdowns. Lacy then transferred to Louisville and became a reliable number two option behind top receivers. However, injuries hit hard in 2024, forcing him to redshirt most of the regular season. He bounced back strong this year, grabbing 60 passes for 635 yards and return touchdowns that earned him third-team all-ACC and second-team All-American nods as a returner. At the NFL Combine, Lacy checked in at 59 and 183 lbs, with a 4.55 40-yard dash and solid jumps. Scouts love his quick cuts, run-after-catch vision, and slot separation, but note his small frame, injury history, and struggles tracking deep balls. Overall, Lacy profiles like Parker Washington from Penn State, a shifty, versatile gadget guy ready to carve niches in the right system.
