I’m Stephanie LI.大家好，我是主持人李莹亮。Coming up on today’s program.重点提要 -China’s economic powerhouse Guangdong posts slower but generally steady growth in GDP in Q1;-Chinese stocks sank on Monday with the benchmark index hitting a 21-month low.Here’s what you need to know about China in the past 24 hours 中国经济要闻Guangdong's GDP reached 2.85 trillion yuan in the first quarter, up 3.3 percent year-on-year, according to data released by local government.According to the Statistics Bureau of Guangdong Province, the southern economic powerhouse's GDP growth was outpaced by 1.5 percent of the national average of 4.8 percent. This indicates that for the first quarter, the momentum of the province’s growth has generally weakened amid rising complexities and uncertainties at home and abroad.Specifically, consumption and trade were the two major sectors weighing on growth in the first quarter. Official figures showed that the retail sales of consumer goods increased by 1.7 percent in the period, and the total value of its import and export was 1.84 trillion yuan, merely increased by 0.6 percent on a yearly basis.However, the province maintained stable economic growth in general and saw strong resilience, industrial upgrading and sustained recovery in major fields, despite the triple downward pressure including demand contraction, supply shocks, and weakening expectations. Growth in the first quarter is highlighted by the manufacturing sector. The province’s added value of industries above designated size grew by 5.8 percent, in which emerging industries have become its significant engines for industrial economic development. The added value of the advanced manufacturing industry and high-tech manufacturing grew by 5.9 percent and 5.5 percent respectively, accounting for 54.3 percent and 28.6 percent of the total added value of industries above designated size. For example, Guangdong’s new energy vehicle production increased 190 percent year-on-year, accounting for 16.2 percent of the national production. Production of industrial robots increased by 4.1 percent yearly, accounting for 32.5 percent of the national production. The added value of the primary industry totalled 97.62 billion yuan, up by 6.7 percent, and that of the secondary and tertiary industry was 1,092 billion yuan and 1,660 billion yuan, up by 4.8 percent and 2.1 percent respectively.Also, boosted by manufacturing and infrastructure, fixed asset investment grew 6.2 percent year-on-year in the first quarter, notably faster than overall GDP growth, thus becoming a key underpinning for growth. Industrial investment, in particular, is growing strongly, with a jump of 35 percent.The financial sector continues to inject liquidity in the real economy, especially in helping pandemic-hit manufacturing and SMEs. The added value of the financial sector increased by 6.8 percent in the first quarter. Manufacturing loans increased by 20.8 percent, and loans to small and micro businesses grew by 25.2 percent.4月23日晚，广东省统计局发布经济数据显示，一季度广东经济运行总体平稳。从主要经济指标看，一季度广东地区生产总值(GDP)为28498.79亿元，同比增长3.3%。规模以上工业增加值0.89万亿元，同比增长5.8%；固定资产投资同比增长6.2%；社会消费品零售总额1.12万亿元，同比增长1.7%；货物进出口总额1.84万亿元，同比增长0.6%。客观来看，一季度广东各项经济指标呈现冷热不均的特点。表现较好的有：规模以上工业增加值0.89万亿元，同比增长5.8%；固定资产投资同比增长6.2%，特别是工业投资增势强劲，增长34.8%。得益于广东完备的制造业供应链以及持续推动的制造业转型升级战略，广东工业经济展现出了十足韧劲，撑起广东经济万亿大厦。根据地区生产总值统一核算结果，一季度广东地区生产总值为28498.79亿元，同比增长3.3%。其中，第一产业增加值976.15亿元，增长6.7%；第二产业增加值10920.95亿元，增长4.8%；第三产业增加值16601.69亿元，增长2.1%。面对当前需求收缩、供给冲击、预期转弱“三重压力”，新产业、新经济已经成为支撑广东工业经济发展的重要引擎。数据显示，今年一季度，广东先进制造业增加值增长5.9%，占规模以上工业增加值比重54.3%，高技术制造业增加值增长5.5%，占全省规模以上工业增加值比重28.6%。例如，今年一季度，广东的新能源汽车产量同比增长189.6%，产量占全国比重16.2%；工业机器人产量同比增长4.1%，产量占全国比重32.5%。同时，金融活水正源源不断地流向制造业等实体经济。数据显示，一季度广东金融支撑实体经济力度加大，金融业增加值增长6.8%。3月末金融机构本外币贷款余额同比增长12.1%，其中，制造业贷款增长20.8%，普惠小微贷款增长25.2%。另一方面，社会消费品零售总额1.12万亿元，同比增长1.7%；货物进出口总额1.84万亿元，同比增长0.6%。表现欠佳是多种因素共同作用的结果：受到需求收缩、供给冲击、预期转弱三重压力影响，叠加疫情的短期冲击和海外制造端的复苏等。The National Development and Reform Commission said on Monday that leading indicators are positive, with a year-on-year increase of 12,000 in the number of newly commenced projects in the first quarter of 2022. Total investment volume for newly commenced projects in the period grew by 55 percent year-on-year, adding that the full quota of special-purpose bonds for project construction in 2022 had all been issued as of Monday. Some 70 percent of the 666 key enterprises named on the central government white list last week, to swiftly resume production, have reopened, Shanghai’s vice mayor said last Friday. Meanwhile, crude oil imports further declined during the period.
