The board approved the purchase of the former Chillicothe Telephone building on Orange Street for its new location for the Transportation Department. The current property near Riverside Drive is being sold to the City of Chillicothe. Saxton also discussed some of the demonstrations performed by students for the school board from the STEAM program. Early site planning has begun for the construction of the elementary buildings. Saxton believes workers will begin turning dirt by Monday. The Athletic Committee also met to discuss replacing the scoreboards in Hatton Gymnasium, the softball and baseball fields and at The Obadiah Harris Athletic Complex. The latter is the same scoreboard repurposed from before renovation to the complex to fit the large video screen in 2013.
