CDC excludes 2 Pa. measles-related deaths from its database

from KYW Newsradio Audio On-Demand

Pennsylvania’s two recent measles deaths are not included in the CDC’s latest update on its website. The agency said it is still reviewing “additional information regarding the circumstances and causes of death” for the two cases. It said the available information “does not establish whether measles caused or contributed to the deaths or whether the individuals died from other causes while infected with measles.” The Pennsylvania Health Department said one of the two dead is an infant. Meanwhile, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has questioned whether the deaths happened at all. Gov. Josh Shapiro accused Kennedy of going down a “rabbit hole” of conspiracy theories and false claims. Kennedy, in turn, accused Shapiro of fearmongering. (Photo by Joe Raedle/Getty Images)
