She is the author of American Pragmatism and Poetic Practice: Crosscurrents from Emerson to Susan Howe, and three books of poetry - most recently, Daphne. She has co-edited several essay collections on American writers. Most recently, the Oxford Handbook of Henry David Thoreau.
