In the second half, Marcus Smart exploded with energy, forcing two steals, a jump ball and hitting 7-of-12 field goal in the game along with stopping Anthony Edwards in transition to help turn the game around. Tristan Thompson and Smart built a wall inside against Towns, while Tatum scored 13 points in a row to close the third, taking a lead shortly into the fourth, before he finished with a career-high 53 points to match Isaiah Thomas' legendary playoff total. Jaylen Brown converted 7-of-10 to keep the game moderately close early while Kemba hit back-to-back threes in overtime to seal the game.
