Census Workshop I: What Kinds of Data Does the Census Bureau Collect?

"The New York Census Research Data Center (NYCRDC) provides academic researchers with a unique opportunity to access selected confidential Census microdata in physically secure facilities at Cornell University and Baruch College. The NYCRDC is a consortium of 15 universities and research institutions in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. This is the first workshop of a series sponsored by the NYCRDC. The workshop is conducted by Rosemarie Fogarty, Information Specialist, U.S. Census Bureau. Ms. Fogarty provides an overview of the Census Bureau data, using the Census’s website as the starting point. Sanders Korenman, Executive Director of the NYCRDC and Professor at School of Public Affairs (SPA), gives a brief introduction to the NYCRDC. David Birdsell, Dean, School of Public Affairs, makes the opening remarks. The event takes place on April 17, 2007, at the Skylight Room (room 306), 17 Lexington Ave."
