Joseph Smith lll relates a dream Alexander had of him and Joseph Smith lll not being enlisted for war. Joseph Smith lll shares memories of him giving a war speech. Frederick Smith is not mentioned in the enlistment and Joseph Smith lll explains his brother Frederick had been found ill and deserted without heat or food or water by his wife as she went to her mothers and left no clue of returning, Joseph Smith lll took him to their mothers home and nursed him and returned him home later but he died not long after. Frederick's wife remarried and her new husband sought to claim property belonging to her but records showed that everyrhing Frederick had was used up during his marriage. There is mention of William B Smith enlisting and remaining in service for 3 years and returning unharmed.
