Ch.11 p.86-91 The Memoirs of President Joseph Smith lll War A prophecy

Here we read of the revelation by Joseph Smith Jun 25 Dec 1832 about war. Joseph Smith lll shares his opinion that the revelation began to be fulfilled during clash over the slave question. Joseph Smith lll relates a dream Alexander had of him and Joseph Smith lll not being enlisted for war. Joseph Smith lll shares memories of him giving a war speech. Frederick Smith is not mentioned in the enlistment and Joseph Smith lll explains his brother Frederick had been found ill and deserted without heat or food or water by his wife as she went to her mothers and left no clue of returning, Joseph Smith lll took him to their mothers home and nursed him and returned him home later but he died not long after. Frederick's wife remarried and her new husband sought to claim property belonging to her but records showed that everyrhing Frederick had was used up during his marriage. There is mention of William B Smith enlisting and remaining in service for 3 years and returning unharmed.
