Ch.13 p.104-108 Memoirs of President Joseph Smith lll
from Green Eyes Yolanda · host Yolanda Tranquille Geer
This episode made me cry with laughter and also cry with sadness. So funny the first few stories and then Joseph Smith lll shared about some funeral talks he gave. Joseph Smith lll shares reassurance to the readers who may be called upon to share messages in front of others, saying that he trembled before every speech past the age of 50, and said not to worry. He shared humourous stories about flies, one of himself with a fly on the end of his nose whilst he was trying to say the prayer before the congregation and another about a man with a fly on his glasses obstructing him reading scripture aloud.. the brother ended up saying 'and Moses said to the lord .. daen that pesky fly' or similar speech. As i read, i laugh and chuckle. I am grateful for the words of comfort Joseph Smith lll shares concerning sharing messages to congregations even if only 2 people are in attendance, share the message as best as if there were an entire congregantion listening. Joseph Smith often shares stories of his prophetic dreams and of instincts and here he shares a dream of a girl upon a bed with her 2 deceased sisters, whom Joseph Smith lll had already performed Funeral services for, and the girl said not to worry she was not alone now... his dream indicating she too had died and the dream was correct.
