Joseph Smith lll had a lot to do with Poligamy being halted within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by showing the contrast bwtween the teachings during the life time of his father compared to the teachings of the Utah church. Joseph Smith visits the Kirtland Temple and seeis that it is neglected and run down and reminisces of his birthplace. He relates an occurence where he had hatred for a man that had drawn a gun on his mum Emma when he had asked the man to leave her hotel, he describes some occurrences and how he overcame his feelings of hatred, that he could not say the prayers of 'forgive us of our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us' without cringing and therefore worked on it. He said he had hatred towards the men who killed his father also but it was a different hatred.
