Ch.20 p.173-178 Memoirs of President Joseph Smith lll Vicissitudes and a Vindication

This episode had me choked up. The brother of Joseph Smith lll, David Smith was taken mentally ill after a mission to Salt Lake City where his mission companions were mistreated and one had excrement smeared upon him, David developed halucinations and was admitted into a mental hospital. David's wife stayed faithful to him until her death, waiting for him. Joseph Smith lll also shares sadness and distress of a member dying in which her husband pleaded for them to have her live, to no avail.
