Chad Johnson

Chad Javon Johnson was born January 9th, 1978, in Miami, Florida. When Chad was very young, his mother, Paula, moved to Los Angeles with his younger brother, Chauncey, but sadly did not take Chad with them. Chad’s father would be in prison for almost all of his childhood and the two would not meet until Chad was out of high school. Instead, Chad was raised by his grandmother, Bessie Mae Flowers, and her second husband James, who Chad called “Granddaddy”. Bessie Mae attempted to keep Chad busy with soccer, football, and basketball, despite the fact she was a teacher and counselor, she just couldn’t get him to focus on schoolwork.
