Ruby’s Pantry has announced it is ending operations effective immediately, following several months of organizational realignment aimed at better focusing its mission and meeting community needs. Leaders say the decision was not made lightly.  This means they will no longer offer their food distribution to the public. Locally, officials emphasize this closure does not impact the Waupaca Area Food Pantry, which remains open and serving residents at 800 Churchill Street on Mondays and Fridays from 9 to 11 a.m. Additionally, the Waupaca Library continues to offer a food pantry during regular hours for those in need.     The City of Waupaca is reminding residents that its annual spring leaf and brush pickup runs throughout the month of April. Residents should place leaves and brush in the terrace area between the sidewalk and street—not in the roadway. Leaves must be in clear bags under 35 pounds, and brush should be bundled with twine, no longer than five feet. City crews will only collect materials from routine yard maintenance.  For those looking to clean up early, brush can be dropped off at the Recycling Center for a small fee, while leaves are accepted at no cost.     The City of Waupaca Parks and Recreation board meets this evening at 5:15pm in the Council Chambers, lower level of Waupaca City Hall.  On the agenda this evening is a review of the annual report, monthly reports and a recreation program update.  The meeting is open to the public and the agenda may be viewed online at cityofwaupaca.org.
