Challenging Presuppositions

You do not come to the Bible empty-handed. You show up with assumptions, church catchphrases, family stories, and the mental scripts you have repeated for years and those presuppositions quietly steer what you think a passage “must” mean. We start by naming that baggage out loud, because once you can see your assumptions, you can finally test them instead of being led by them.We make the idea practical with a simple picture: going to a movie. Before the first scene, you already expect certain lines, certain plot turns, and a certain ending. Bible reading works the same way.
