Chanel Pfahl: "Atrocities have occurred throughout history because individuals have been cowards"

Chanel Pfahl is a high school teacher in Ontario who in 2021 found herself under investigation and suspended from her position by her school board for some fairly innocuous comments she made in a private  Facebook group.  Her “harmful” comments: suggesting that schools should not be indoctrinating school children with Critical Race Theory, and  that if CRT is to be taught it should be offered alongside other views.   She has been outspoken about the dangers of indoctrination and the need for schools to be non-partisan and balanced.   I love what Chanel said about being brave and standing up for what is  right: "Atrocities have occurred throughout human history, and the only reason that they've occurred is that individuals have been cowards. They've put themselves first - they've thought 'I'll save myself in the short term and hopefully other people will figure it out.'  And often it doesn't go that way.
