Ep. #003 Author, speaker, and youth mentor Nate Evans Jr. is on a mission to "change what we normalize", and along the way offer more mental health, personal power, and peace to the community.

Nate Evans Jr.   is only getting started.

Still young and hungry, His unshakable faith, and background in sports and fitness, make him a powerful force for whatever he puts his mind toward. And right now, his mind is on one thing: Changing what we normalize.

A two time author, his second book, "I Love You: Letters of Love from Black Men to Black Boys", was a best seller, and served to show the power that collaboration and compassion can offer us.

It seeks to affirm the spirit and well being of black and brown youth in the community, by addressing the stigmas around mental health, masculinity, and other things that he believes keep them from accessing their true potential and purpose.

We talk about how he confronted his battles with mental health issues, where he finds faith and friendship, and his incredible  ability to pump out social media content.

(ALSO, I learned in editing that Nate is an incredibly passionate speaker, his microphone is incredibly good at picking up table vibrations, and they're incredibly hard to remove!)

Reuben Sachs by Amy Levy Loyal Books Reuben Sachs is a London lawyer whose political aspirations do not include marriage to Judith Quixano, the daughter of a respectable but unexceptional family. But without Reuben, a woman like Judith might have a bleak future in mid-19th century England: a loveless marriage or lifelong dependency are apparently her only options… A feminist, a Jew, and a lesbian, Amy Levy wrote about Anglo-Jewish cultural mores and the lives of would-be independent women in Victorian society. Levy was as repelled by contemporary literature’s occasional paragon (e.g., Daniel Deronda) as by its more frequent anti-Semitic stereotypes. REUBEN SACHS was her attempt at an honest, warts-and-all account of middle class Jewish life in late-19th century London. While many of Levy’s contemporaries condemned the book as a shanda fur die goyim (an embarrassment), Oscar Wilde wrote: “Its directness, its uncompromising truths, its depth of feeling, and above all, its absence of any single superfluous word, make REUBEN Reframe It!
