Changed - Changed Legacy

from Freedom Church

(2 Corinthians 5:17) (GW) “Whoever is a believer in Christ is a new creation. The old way of living has disappeared. A new way of living has come into existence.” Title of message: Changed Legacy    (Philemon 1:17-21) “So if you consider me a partner, welcome him as you would welcome me. If he has done you any wrong or owes you anything, charge it to me. I, Paul, am writing this with my own hand. I will pay it back—not to mention that you owe me your very self.  I do wish, brother, that I may have some benefit from you in the Lord; refresh my heart in Christ.  Confident of your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even more than I ask.”   To change my legacy I must:   1.    Believe in people.   (Philemon 1:10) (NLT) “My plea is that you show kindness to Onesimus. I think of him as my own son because he became a believer as a result of my ministry here in prison.”    2.    Take risks on people.   (Philemon 17-19) “So if you consider me a partner, welcome him as you would welcome me. If he has done you any wrong or owes you anything, charge it to me. I, Paul, am writing this with my own hand. I will pay it back-not to mention that you owe me your very self.”  PICTURES   Who is your Paul?    Who is your Onesimus?   (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10) “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work:  If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!”   FAMILY DEDICATION   (Luke 2:22) “When the time of their purification according to the Law of Moses had been completed, Joseph and Mary took him (Jesus) to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord.”   (Deuteronomy 6:5-10) (The Message) “Love God, your God, with your whole heart: love him with all that's in you, love him with all you've got! Write these commandments that I've given you today on your hearts. Get them inside of you and then get them inside your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning to when you fall into bed at night. Tie them on your hands and foreheads as a reminder; inscribe them on the doorposts of your homes….”
