Changes in Product Content Distribution

from Rethinking Supply Chain · host Venzee

On this episode, Venzee CEO, John Abrams, and Sr. Director of Integrations, Chad Kaczmarek, walk us through the history of content distribution, how it has changed, and where we go from here. We’ll look at why traditional means of content distribution are no longer relevant and learn from Chad’s experience in the distribution space. We start by looking at Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) as a system, which Chad describes as the ‘crawling’ stage of content distribution. He then goes on to tell us about how distribution has evolved over time. While EDI provides some information, consumers may want to know more, especially in certain industries, like the medical industry. The conversation then shifts to the walking, running, and even flying stages of product content distribution. Manufacturers have had their hands forced somewhat by governments in some sectors, increasing investment in technology solutions. Not only are governments requiring increased transparency throughout the supply chain, but retailers are putting pressure on manufacturers and suppliers as well. Each major retailer requires very specific product content information, and handling these requirements manually is nearly impossible. John and Chad end this episode by looking at how artificial intelligence could be the means through which product content distribution starts to fly. You can find Chad on LinkedIn, and don’t forget to check out Venzee at the link below!Venzee: venzee.com
