Changing Places In The Fire Interview: The Dream Finally Realised

from GBHBL Interviews · host Grave Noise

Exile-born, Venezuelan prog-rock/post-metal act Changing Places In The Fire will release their self-titled album on the 24th of July 2026 via Wild Thing Records. Formed by five Venezuelan musicians - Daz Medrano (vocals), Alfredo Ovalles (keyboards), Javier Landaeta (guitar), Antonio Silva (guitar), and Miguel Ángel Moliné (drums), all of whom are now scattered across Europe and South America, out of the ashes of the Caracas scene. The band is steeped in the emotional and political realities of migration. The self-titled debut album integrates post-metal, progressive and alternative elements in ten songs that resist genre conventions and channel the melancholy and violence of the present. We spoke with Alfredo and Javier from the band. Talking about the work that has gone into making this album a reality, the ups and downs of the journey, what the future might hold, and so much more.
