Nationally, natural gas has overtaken coal as the number one most commonly used fuel for generating electricity. How will these events shape the future of Tucson Electric Power’s energy portfolio? The company is on a path to reduce its overall coal generation capacity by 30 percent in less than 10 years by increasing renewable power, energy efficiency and natural-gas generation. However, solar and wind are not available at all times, so is it realistic to replace all the coal? How quickly can we replace it? How will they get from here to there? Join us to find out how TEP plans to diversify its portfolio while continuing to provide reliable electric service to more than 415,700 customers in southern Arizona.
