Chapter 1 - The crime

from Accused

Three days after Christmas in 1978, Elizabeth Andes was one of the few students on Miami University’s Oxford campus. Most students were home for winter break, but Beth – a recent graduate – was in town packing up her apartment so she could move to Cincinnati for her first big job. That day, she treated herself by buying a fancy pair of leather boots to celebrate her successes. But she never got to wear them. Instead, her boyfriend, Bob Young, reported finding her lifeless body in the apartment they had shared during their last semester of college together. Police and prosecutors considered the death an open-and-shut case, zeroing in immediately on Young. But Beth’s friends never thought things were quite so simple. Through this podcast, The Enquirer will lay out its investigation into the cold case in hopes of finally figuring out who got it wrong nearly 40 years ago – police or the jury? O.C. Swingers Audiochuck You can't spell lifestyle without lies. When the charges against Newport Beach orthopedic surgeon and former Bravo reality star Dr. Grant Robicheaux and his girlfriend, substitute teacher Cerissa Riley, were revealed back in September of 2018, the world gawked at the unlikely criminals. And when a search warrant resulted in a haul that included unlawful guns, drugs, cash, and a mountain of digital evidence, the two were accused of drugging and raping MANY women. Things only got weirder from there. Journalist and podcaster Justine Harman pulls back the curtain on one of the most sordid sex crimes cases in Orange County history. The Catch and Kill Podcast with Ronan Farrow Pineapple Street Studios and Audacy For the past two years, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Ronan Farrow has been following a trail of clues from his investigation of Harvey Weinstein to other blockbuster stories about the systems that protect powerful men accused of terrible crimes in Hollywood, Washington, and beyond. But he didn’t bring that information to light on his own. A compelling cast of sources—from brave whistleblowers to shadowy undercover operatives—decided the fate of these investigations, sometimes risking everything in the process. The Catch and Kill Podcast brings you their stories, in their own words, for the first time.
