Chapter 15 - Pray For Laborers

This 31-day audio companion is intended to be used alongside Joel Beeke's "Developing a Healthy Prayer Life." Each episode will invite believers to cultivate a deeper, more consistent prayer life by emphasizing that prayer is not about performance but a gracious invitation rooted in Christ's finished work. The episode centers on the biblical imperative to respond to the world's spiritual needs not with despair or complaint, but with earnest prayer, particularly for godly laborers in the church. Drawing from Matthew 9:37–38, it emphasizes that Christ, as the Lord of the harvest, alone calls, equips, and sends forth faithful servants, elders, deacons, missionaries, and disciples, whose work is essential to the church's health and mission. The episode underscores that prayer is not a passive act but active kingdom work, vital for strengthening leaders, nurturing disciples, and advancing the gospel. It calls believers to shift from anxiety and criticism to intercession, recognizing that as they pray, God may also shape them into the very laborers they are praying for. Ultimately, the episode affirms that the church's future rests not in human effort, but in Christ's sovereign grace, inviting the body of Christ to trust, pray, and participate in His redemptive work.
