Chapter 43: The Night They Wept for Their Dead Description The most heartbreaking story in the series: the last night of Calatayud’s Jewish community before the 1492 exile. On July 25th, about a thousand souls gathered in the Jewish cemetery to bid farewell for the last time to their ancestors before undertaking the journey of no return to Tortosa. An emotional and deeply human episode that narrates the final moments of eight centuries of Jewish presence in Calatayud. From the tears of Selemon Ezi beside his father’s tomb, to the fulfilled prophecy of keys that would return 500 years later from Tel Aviv.
