Chapter 66 Episode 1

from Gvuros HaShem

Rabbi Shulman learns a passage (פרק ס״ו) from the Maharal (אמר יהודה בן בצלאל) arguing that any great divine act must have a correspondingly great purpose. He shows how the Torah itself defines the telos of Yetziat Mitzrayim: that Hashem be our God and that His שכינה dwell among us—seen through the sequence of redemption, Aseret HaDibrot, Mishpatim, and finally the Mishkan. Rabbi Shulman then addresses the philosophical challenge: if “השמים כסאו והארץ הדום רגליו,” why would Hashem choose to dwell in the lowly physical world, and he begins explaining that the deepest קשר is specifically between the עילה (Bestower) and the עלול/מקבל (recipient). Tanach Study Tanach Study Tanach Study is an initiative to promote the independent study of the books of Tanach‎ (Torah, Neviim and Ketuvim) through a web-based platform and weekly class. Our program aims to provide the Jewish community with immediate access to Torah knowledge in the form of a daily e-mail/podcast to complete and understand Neviim and Ketuvim in just 3 years. Tanach Study hopes to broaden Torah learning, to increase knowledge of our Jewish history, heighten our Yirat Shamayim, Ahavat Hashem, and strengthen our personal as well as our national identity. Machshavah Lab Rabbi Matt Schneeweiss My name is Rabbi Matt Schneeweiss. My goal as a Torah educator is not merely to teach my students my OWN hashkafah. Rather, my goal is to equip them with the foundations, the methodological training, and the tools which will enable them to arrive at their OWN understanding of Judaism and cultivate their OWN relationship with Hashem and His Torah. This podcast is devoted to the shiurim I give which are geared specifically towards that end. As such, the range of topics covered here will be diverse. There will be shiurim on Jewish philosophy, Chumash methodology, aggadic midrashim, maybe even some non-Jewish philosophy as well. Merriam-Webster defines "laboratory" as a place providing opportunity for experimentation, observation, or practice in a field of study. I call this podcast "Machshavah Lab" because this is where we will conduct Torah "experiments" by exploring questions, texts, and ideas in an effort to develop our machshavah in a "hands on," exploratory, firsthand manner. Understanding the Sefiros Rabbi Yossi Michalowicz Understand the Mystical Sefiros and their relevance in developing a deeper relationship with Hashem & Mitzva observance. This series is based on the Sefer "Da'as HaSefiros" which incorporates the teachings of Rabbi Reuven Shlosberg (Jerusalem) which explain the conduct of hashem and recognizing our own human spiritual essence. Nishmas / Charlene Aminoff TYH Nation Nishmas: this powerful Tefila teaches us that gratitude is a most powerful key to unlocking the gates leading up to Hashem.Welcome to the Nishmas Army may Hashem answer your Tefillos L’tova.... & speedily! - Charlene Aminoff
