Adam is drawn to the Great Library and the Museion, the seat of all knowledge in the ancient world, and seeks out the famous lady philosopher Sophia he had been told about. He presents himself to her, and she is intrigued by this mysterious wanderer. Sophia arranges for Adam to study at the Museon, and he discovers the ancient texts on medicine stored there. As time passes, his fame as a physician grows.  Adam challenges Sophia  with questions that expand her horizons.
