BIO:Since graduating with a BA in Writing from Winona State University, Sally Collins’ work has appeared regularly in the Peninsula Pulse newspaper and Door County Living magazine.A semifinalist for the 2024 Wisconsin People & Ideas short fiction contest, her creative writing has recently appeared in Barstow and Grand and Feels Blind Literary. She lives in Door County, where she proudly served countless old-fashioneds and fish fries during her many years working in the restaurant industry.SYNOPSIS:A wry celebration of Wisconsin culture and an unflinching commentary on coming of age in the Midwest, Muddled Cherries follows a young woman’s life-altering summer in Door County. Fleeing broken relationships, a seemingly lost dream and an unsettling incident with one of the regulars at her dad’s tavern, Emily journeys across the state and joins the staff of The Schooner, a restaurant on the shore of Lake Michigan.
