Tom sifts through the small objects on his desk—trinkets, toys, forgotten gifts—and begins to wonder: what are these things trying to say? As he reflects on an old dowager who left nothing of value in her safety deposit box, he begins to question what we hold onto… and why. But the real reason for his delay becomes clear: Grief has arrived.
