Chargers Roster Moves & QB Battle | Los Angeles Chargers News

Chargers finalize their 53-man roster with Trey Lance locked in as QB2 despite DJ Uiagalelei’s strong preseason showing—system familiarity won out. Veteran punter JK Scott, a nine-year pro, was surprisingly cut after a shaky preseason, though a return isn’t ruled out. Running back Jaret Patterson and others like Greg Desrosiers Jr. and Amar Johnson fell short in a deep RB room. Several draft picks were waived, but undrafted rookies like cornerback Rodney Shelley earned spots—some via trade. The team also shed defensive linemen for future picks. Coach Harbaugh stressed this isn’t goodbye for anyone, promising support and opportunities on the practice squad or beyond.
