Charles Blockson- Freedom Journeys

When a teacher once told him Black people had no history, Charles L. Blockson set out to prove otherwise. For decades, he collected books, documents, and artifacts telling the stories of people of African descent—building one of the nation’s most important archives of Black history. Today, his legacy lives on through the Charles L. Blockson Afro-American Collection at Temple University Libraries. Historian Diane D.
