Charles, 58 at the time, started a chat with a decoy he thought was a 13-year-old girl. He discussed masturbation, bondage, and sex with the decoy. Before travelling to the sting house, Charles went to a doctor for Viagra so that he could "perform like a young man." He arrives at the sting house in a car that he built from a kit. When he is greeted by the decoy, he offers to take her for a ride. After he is confronted by Chris, Charles bolts out of the house and into the custody of the police. When interrogated by police, Charles claimed he was just joking about sex and wanted to educate the girl.
