Charlie Giles || Riding the roads of life, bumps and all

from MFEP+ME · host Mentally Fit EP

Charlie Giles has been living on Eyre Peninsula for a long time, in fact he is edging his way to 97 at the time of this recording. At 96 years of age his memory recall is pretty impressive. The life he describes is something that is so hard to fathom in this day and age where everyone is so connected... but are people really connected? This conversation definitely gets the mind thinking about different facets of life. Please be aware that this episode discusses dementia, death during the war and comes from a point of view with opinions of someone who was born in the 1920's- a big contrast to now! If you are concerned about someone who is struggling and finding it difficult to see their way out of grief or mental challenges, then we highly recommend Question. Persuade. Refer. QPR training, which Emma and Lain talked about in the first episode of Season 1. You can access the training at https://www.countrysaphn.com.au/mental-health/suicide-prevention-services/question-persuade-refer-qpr-online/ Type in the code CSA to take the training free of cost. This training is funded by Country SA PHN. We thank them for their support in the Suicide Prevention space- an area we believe is important to put energy towards. We hope you enjoy this episode.
