Charlie Haden Special / Cassette One Side One

On 19 December 1984, the entire duration of Larry Blood’s jazz-centric radio show Out Front, Outback was devoted to the music of Charlie Haden. It broadcast on the Santa Cruz, CA. independent station KUSP-FM.The program presents a historical overview of my father’s music, beginning with his early Ornette Coleman recordings, to his early 1980s work with Jan Garbarek and Egberto Gismonti. It includes a rarely-heard interview, taped after his set at the 1984 Monterey Jazz Festival. Covering two cassettes, it’s a great Charlie Haden audio document as well as amazing snapshot in time.
