I'm Charlie James, right here on News Talk 98.9 WORD, the Voice of the Carolinas. So glad to have you along with us this afternoon because we got, once again, just absolute truckloads of things to talk about today because there's a lot going on in the world. Karoline Leavitt, by the way, just had her first White House press briefing after her maternity leave, and she seems to be in fine fettle, so there you go. Good for her, glad to have her back. We have got a special election for the Senate coming up here in South Carolina. And of course, I want to remind you that the Democrat candidate for the Senate here in South Carolina, Dr. Annie Andrews, will be on the show this afternoon at 4:35. That's 4:35 this afternoon. I am ready to hear, and mainly because she said in a video that she released on social media that we've got a lot more things in common than we have differences. And I thought, hmm, I wonder what those things are. I would love to, I would love to find out what those things are. So, JJ is like, "You both speak English." So, we are going to, I got a lot, got some questions I'm going to be asking her at 4:35. Don't forget, Dr. Annie Andrews is going to be joining us. Speaking of that primary, I got some new information, not really new, but verified information about the upcoming special election. The candidate filing opens on Tuesday, the 21st, that's coming this Tuesday at noon. It will close the following Tuesday on the 28th at noon. If you have not registered to vote yet, you can do that and vote in this primary, but the voter registration deadline is Sunday, July 12th. That's Sunday, July 12th. The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot is July 31st. Okay? Early voting for the special primary is going to be Wednesday through Friday, that's August 5th, 6th, and 7th, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. That's early voting, 8:30 in the morning to 5:00 in the afternoon. Then, of course, we've got the primary on August the 11th. That, those day, those times will be 7:00 to 7:00, just like always. Early voting, 8:30 to 5:00. Voting day in the primary is going to be 7:00 to 7:00. If there is a runoff, that will be Tuesday, August 25th. Early voting for the runoff, if necessary, is August 19th, 20th, and 21st. Now, I know there is a lot of information there for you, but if you need this information, go to scvotes.gov. That's scvotes.gov, right there on the right-hand side of the page. There's kind of a yellow box. No, no, no, where is it? That is not what I was looking for. Charlie, you almost, here we go, let's see. scvotes.gov, where is it? Go to elections. Oh my goodness, where is it? It was just up here. Special elections, and it will give you all the information you need. So, there you go. So, look for that over at scvotes.gov. Well, of course, there's been a poll out about the upcoming primary and maybe, maybe some surprise here. Emerson did this. Ralph Norman right now is leading the pack with 16% of the vote. Mark Lynch is in second place with 13%. Nancy Mace has 10%. Pamela Evette has 10%. Russell Fry has 9%. Henry McMaster has 8%. Darlene Graham Nardone has 6%. Mark Sanford has 5%. Someone else has 5%, and undecided has 18%. So, without the appointed Senator Graham Nardone on the ballot, you've got 14 percentage points for Ralph Norman, 12 for Mace and Lynch, 9% support for Fry, 8% support for McMaster, 4% support for Sanford. So, it's, listen, I know, I know as well as you know, way too early for a poll like this. Way too early. We don't even know who's actually running. We have a lot of people who said they were going to run, but we don't actually know who the candidates are going to be. But those are, I mean, that's, that's a list.
