Charlie James: All right, welcome to the program on your Monday afternoon. It was a, uh, strange, strange weekend, um, as we all found out the news that Senator Lindsey Graham, uh, died at the age of 71. We do know that it was what is called an, an, a, uh, aortic dissection. Um, that's where his aorta, uh, had a tear in it. And that was, uh, caused with, uh, and it was heart disease. That's, that's what it was. Pure and simple. Uh, Lindsey Graham died of heart disease. I know there's a, a lot of conspiracy theories out there, a lot of people saying that it was more than what it was. But this is a guy that would, and he, and we don't know what caused it. That's the thing. This guy had just gotten back from a 12-hour flight, um, from Ukraine. And if you know anything about 12-hour flights, um, they can be very dangerous for blood clotting in your legs. Those bloods, those, uh, veins, uh, those clots can actually break loose, travel to your lungs, maybe even your heart, sometimes your brain, and it can cause a myriad of, of health problems. We don't know if that was the, the problem with Senator Graham. Um, but we do know that Sunday morning, we all woke up and we got the news. I had just gotten up. I got up about quarter to six on Sunday morning, and I was making my coffee. And my wife came in, and she said, "Did you hear that Lindsey Graham died?" Now, in my pre-coffee brain, I was thinking, surely she, she just said Mitch McConnell. Surely she's talking about Mitch McConnell. But then I said, "Lindsey Graham?" And she said, "Yeah, Lindsey Graham died." And that's when it all started to register, and I said, "Holy cow." This is, this is unbelievable. It really is. So, um, now we've got a lot of things happening. We've got positions that need to be filled. One of them is Lindsey Graham's seat. Now, what we are hearing is coming up at 4:00 today—and we're going to take this press conference live—4:00 today, Governor McMaster is more than likely going to recommend or appoint Darline Graham Nardone, Lindsey Graham's sister, as, uh, to fulfill his seat. Okay? Okay. So, she would be the senator until January the 3rd. All right, she'd be the senator until January the 3rd. I am hearing that the, the GOP requested of Henry McMaster not to appoint anyone that would be involved in the primary. They want a clean primary. They want no incumbents in the upcoming primary. So, that's one of the, she's going to be called a placeholder senator, and that's what she's going to be. Now, I don't know what votes are going to come up between now and then. But if there are any significant votes, I certainly hope she votes the right way. All right, so she, no, she's actually going to serve until January the 3rd. So then, we're, now we're going to have a special, we're going to have a primary on August the 11th. That's the second Tuesday of August. Candidate filing period is July 21st, and that will close on July 28th. I do believe it's the 28th. Some people have said the 27th, um, I think it might be the 28th. Let me just double-check that real quick because that should be, um, that's a Tuesday. It might actually be that Monday, the 27th. But we do know that the filing date will be the 21st, and close maybe on that Tuesday, the 28th. Then, a couple of weeks later, we will have the primary. Whoever wins that primary will go on to run against Dr. Annie Andrews to see who the next senator from South Carolina will be. So, it's going to, it's a lot going on here. A lot going on, and of course, uh, Governor McMaster going to be having that presser coming up. But, I got, um, I got contacted, uh, blah, blah, blah, blah, was it me, yeah, it was yesterday. Um, I got contacted that, um, this guy named Mark Arum in Atlanta wanted me to be on his program, uh, today. Uh, he's on WSB in Atlanta. So, I called into his show today, and I kind of knew what was coming. I kind of knew what one of the first questions was, was going to be, and I was absolutely right ...
