Full Transcript Charlie James: 37 minutes and 30 seconds to vote! Now, listen, if you are in line at 7:00, you CAN still vote! Let's go to Greg in Pelzer. Greg, what's going on? Greg: Hey Charlie, how you doing? Charlie James: I'm doing good, bud. How was your day? Greg: It's pretty good. So, I moved here in 2010, and it didn't take me long to figure out who Lindsey Graham really was. And I have voted consistently every chance I had in every primary against him, and every—every time, I felt like, "Okay, I'm stuck, I got to—I got to follow the party line," and I would vote for him. This has been the first year that I was like, "I'm not going to vote for him, I don't—I can't vote for him, and I can't vote for a Democrat." So I didn't know what I was going to do. I was going to forfeit my vote, vote for third party, I didn't know what I was going to do. And so, I don't know much about, uh, his sister, Graham, but it can't be that much different. Am I wrong? Charlie James: I—you know, I don't know. I mean, she's saying all the right things, though, isn't she? Greg: But he used to say all the right things, too! I heard him speak at the Laurens Co-op one time, and based on his speech, he sounded amazing! But then you see what he'd do, it's like, it was a bunch of, you know, nothing. Charlie James: Yeah. Yeah, that's—that's the scary part of politics, Greg. Greg: Yeah. So my—my vote in this last primary and—and today has both been against a Graham. It hasn't really—so, I—I voted Ralph Norman. I was number 152, uh, at the Fort Shoals Baptist. Um, I, to be honest, I don't know enough about him, but my vote was mostly I wanted to vote for somebody I believe could win. Charlie James: There you go. All right, Greg, I appreciate it. Um, let me see. "Charlie, just voted on, um, Highway 29 side of Anderson, only about 70 people have voted, voted for Mark Lynch." Um, let me see here. Somebody else, uh, had one here for Russell Fry. First Russell Fry we've had on the text line today. Let's go to Jim in Taylors. Jim, welcome. Jim: Uh, well, thanks, Charlie. Uh, first-time caller. Charlie James: You—there you go! (bell rings) All right, man! What's up? Jim: Oh, uh, just wanted to call, let you know, uh, I voted at 5:00, uh, this afternoon, in—in, uh, Locust Hill, in, uh, Mountain View, up at the church up there, and I was number 887, and they were out the door and still coming in the parking lot when I left. Charlie James: That's amazing! Tell me again where that was. Jim: Uh, it's—I think it's Mountain View Baptist Church, it's, uh, up in Locust Hill, up 290, and Mountain View Road turns off right there in the fork of the road. Charlie James: There you go. All right, man, I appreciate it. That sounds like a pretty darn good voter turnout, Jim. Let's go to Steve in Greenville. Steve, what's up? Steve: Hey, Charlie. Charlie James: Hey, bud. Steve: Just calling to let you know I just left the poll precinct maybe 10–15 minutes ago, and I was number 182. Not sure the total number on the list. But I voted at, uh, St. Michael's Lutheran Church on Augusta Street. Charlie James: Yeah. Steve: Seems kind of—seems kind of low for around here, but— Charlie James: Yeah, you were 182? Steve: 182. Charlie James: Yeah. Ah, yeah, we'll—I mean, we're seeing, I appreciate it, Steve, we're seeing just different things in different districts around here. Uh, it's going to be very interesting coming up in 34 and a half minutes. Oysterman's in Travelers Rest. What's going on with you? Oysterman: Listen, I'll tell you what. If I didn't have a—a heart bypass, triple, I wouldn't be voting right now! (laughter) So, I wanted—I wanted to let you know that about 12:30 this, uh, afternoon, I went over to Travelers Rest City Hall, and since I'm not walking too well right now, I was like number six on the drive-up.
