The death of Charlie Kirk is a tragedy that we are all still coming to terms with. Even though he was just someone most of us encountered on the internet and never met in real life, we all felt that we knew him and in the last 24 hours, it feels like we've lost a friend. He was omnipresent on our feeds and his arguments against radical left ideology were substantive, persuasive and compelling. The fact that Charlie was killed whilst speaking on a university campus speaks to the deterioration of campus culture and our culture more broadly, where our traditional democratic values of free speech, academic freedom and human dignity are increasingly under threat. Emblematic of our rapid cultural decline and the ascendancy of the left in mainstream discourse is Hannah Ferguson.
